shanghai belling corp., ltd BL93C46 5 functional description t he bl93c4 6 is accesse d via a sim p le a nd versati l e th ree- w i r e seri al communic a tio n interfac e. device oper ation is co ntroll ed b y s e v en i n structions issue d b y th e host proc esso r. a valid instr u ction starts w i th a rising ed ge of cs and c onsis ts of a start bit (logic? 1?) foll o w e d b y th e ap propri a te o p co de a nd the de sired memory address location. re a d (re a d ) : t he read (read) instructio n contains the addr ess code for the memor y locati on to be read. after the instru ction a nd addr ess are dec od ed, data fr om the se lecte d m e mo r y l o catio n is ava ila ble at the serial o u tput pi n do. output d a ta chan ges ar e s y nc hron iz e d w i th the risin g edg es of serial clock sk. it sh ou l d be noted that a dummy bit (logic ?0?) precedes the 8- or 16-bit data output string. er a s e/write (ewen): t o assure data in tegrit y , the part autom atical l y goes into t he erase/w r ite disabl e (ew d s) state w h e n po w e r is first applie d. an erase/w r ite enab le(ewen) instructi on mu st be exec uted first before a n y pr ogrammi ng in structions can be carried o u t. please not e that once in the ew en state, progr ammin g r e mai n s en ab le d until a n ew d s instructio n is execute d or v cc p o w e r is re moved from th e part. er a s e (er a se): t he erase (erase) instruction programs all bi ts in the specified memor y location to the logic a l ? 1 ? state. t he self-timed eras e c y cle s t arts once the erase inst ruc t ion and addre ss are decoded. t he do pin outputs the read y / bu s y status of the part if cs is broug ht high afte r being ke pt lo w f o r a minim u m of 250 ns (t cs). a log i c ?1? at pin do in dic a tes that the se lecte d memor y locat i on has bee n er ased, a nd th e p a rt is ready for another instruction. write (wr i te): t he w r i t e (w rit e ) instruction contai ns the 8 or 16 bits of data to be w r itten into the specifi ed mem o r y l o catio n . t h e self-timed pr ogrammi ng c y c l e, twp, starts after the last bit of data is received at serial data i nput pi n di. t h e do pin outp u ts the read y/ bus y status of the part if cs i s brought hi gh after bei ng kept lo w for a minimum of 250 ns (t cs). a logic ?0? at do ind i cates th at progr ammin g is stil l i n pro g r e ss . a logic ?1? indi cates that the memor y loc a ti on at the specified ad dress ha s been w r itten w i t h the data patter n contai ne d in th e instructi on a nd the part is ready for further instructions . a read y / bu s y status c ann ot b e obtained if the cs is brought hi gh after the end of the selftim ed programming cy cle, t w p. er a s e a ll (er a l): t he erase all (eral) instructio n prog rams ever y bit in the memor y arra y to the l ogi c ?1? state and is pri m aril y use d for testing purp o se s. t he do pin outputs the re ad y/ bus y stat u s of the part if cs is
